Job summary

Speechify is seeking a seasoned Windows desktop engineer to define architecture and execution of native Windows applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and C++ as needed. You will champion accessibility, performance, and cross-version compatibility.

You’ll collaborate with product designers, QA, and engineers to own features end-to-end—from concept to release—ensuring reliability, scalability, and a great user experience across Speechify’s Windows ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between managed and native code
• Proven track record shipping production-quality desktop apps focusing on reliability, performance and maintainability
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and inclusive software
• Excellent CS fundamentals: OOP, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading/async
• Experience leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, and making architecture decisions

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce best-practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase
• Drive accessibility efforts including UI Automation and keyboard navigation
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders on roadmap and architecture
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and memory issues
