Job summary

Speechify in New York, NY is seeking a senior Windows desktop software engineer to lead the design and development of native applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML and potentially C++. You will shape architecture, enforce best practices, and collaborate with design and QA teams to deliver high-quality experiences.

You will drive accessibility, performance, and cross-version compatibility, while owning features end-to-end from conception through release and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and shipping production-ready Windows desktop apps.
• Deep knowledge of Windows app architecture and interop between managed and native code.
• Strong fundamentals in OOP, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience leading technical design and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML and, if needed, C++.
• Define and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, and maintainability across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts: ensure keyboard navigation, screen readers, and UI automation support.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap.
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to maintenance and releases.
• Identify and resolve complex performance and compatibility issues, proposing robust solutions.
