Job summary

Speechify in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and own native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK and WinUI, with C# and XAML.

You will collaborate with product designers, QA, and engineers to ensure accessible, high-performance UI across Windows 10/11+. You will mentor peers, review code, and help drive long-term architecture and technical direction for the Windows platform.

Qualifications

• Experience in Windows desktop application development with Windows App SDK/WinUI (or similar).
• Strong understanding of Windows architecture and interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with emphasis on reliability and performance.
• Experience implementing accessibility features and APIs on Windows.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK/WinUI, C#, XAML, and possibly C++.
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts: UI Automation and accessibility support for users with disabilities.
• Collaborate with product designers, QA, and engineers to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap for Windows platform.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs and performance bottlenecks, proposing robust solutions.
