Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop software engineer to design, build, and ship high-quality Windows applications with Windows App SDK and WinUI. You will own features end-to-end, drive accessibility across the UI, and collaborate with product, UX, and QA to shape the roadmap for our Windows platform.

The role emphasizes performance, reliability, and maintainability, with the opportunity to lead technical direction in a fully distributed, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK/WinUI.
• Strong interop between managed (.NET) and native code (C++/Win32/WinRT/COM).
• Proven track record shipping production-grade desktop apps with reliability and performance.
• Experience with accessibility APIs and inclusive software.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications.
• Define best-practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts across UI controls, focus management, and screen-reader support.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape roadmap.
• Own features end-to-end from conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs and performance bottlenecks.
