Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Windows Desktop Engineer to design and implement high-quality Windows desktop applications. You will work with Windows App SDK, WinUI, and possibly C++ native code to deliver accessible, reliable software that scales across Windows 10/11+.

You will collaborate with designers, researchers, and QA, owning features end-to-end and driving long-term architectural decisions. You will mentor engineers, promote best practices, and help define the roadmap for the Windows

Qualifications

3+ years in Windows desktop development with Windows App SDK and WinUI.
Experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM) is a plus.
Strong understanding of Windows architecture and interop between .NET and native code.
Track record delivering production desktop apps emphasizing reliability and performance.
Experience with accessibility APIs and inclusive software practices.
Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK and WinUI.
Define best practices for code architecture, performance, and cross-version compatibility.
Drive accessibility efforts: UI Automation, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen readers.
Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders on roadmap.
Own features end-to-end from conception to release and maintenance.
Diagnose complex bugs, bottlenecks, memory leaks, and rendering issues; propose solutions.
