Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML. You will drive cross-version compatibility, performance, and accessibility across the Windows platform, collaborating with designers, QA, and product teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Windows desktop experience, strong .NET/native interop, and a proven track record shipping reliable desktop software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop development with Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML.
• Experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM).
• Strong Windows architecture knowledge, including interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production-quality desktop applications with focus on reliability and performance.
• Experience with accessibility APIs and building inclusive software.
• Solid fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, memory management, multi-threading.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop apps.
• Define best practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts across UI and controls.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap.
• Own features end-to-end from conception to maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and rendering issues.
