North Shore Community College seeks a Wellness Counselor (Senior Academic Counselor) for Wellness & Accessibility Services in Lynn. This full-time role provides brief, student-centered wellness support, crisis response, and referrals to TELUS Health and community resources.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or closely related field.
• Ten years of experience including internships, counseling, crisis intervention, and related work.
• Experience responding to individuals in emotional distress or crisis.
• Ability to work with diverse populations using an equity-minded approach.
• Ability to maintain confidential student records and handle sensitive information.
• Must pass CORI/SORI and/or National background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide brief, student-centered wellness support and triage.
• Conduct assessment and risk evaluation to determine needs and referrals.
• Respond to crisis situations with intervention, safety planning, and connections to resources.
• Facilitate warm handoffs to TELUS Health and community providers.
• Collaborate with faculty, NSCC Police, and student-support teams for coordinated care.
• Design psychoeducational programs and outreach on wellness topics.
• Train faculty and staff in recognizing distress and referral practices.
• Maintain current knowledge of campus and community resources.
