Qualifications

• Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Licensure or certification as a School Counselor or equivalent credential.
• Experience providing school-based counseling or student support services.
• Knowledge of adolescent development and mental health practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and crisis-response skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ability to establish trusting relationships with students and families.
• Ability to maintain FERPA-compliant documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong counseling presence within the Academy; serve as a primary resource for student mental health and social-emotional concerns.
• Coordinate care among students, families, Academy staff, and outside providers.
• Provide crisis response and initial risk assessment per school protocols.
• Support students with executive functioning, study strategies, time management and self-advocacy.
• Maintain confidential counseling documentation and participate in coordinated student support planning.
• Collaborate with the Institutional Director of Accessibility Services as needed.
