Job summary

UT Health Sciences seeks a Senior Counselor to promote student mental health and wellness across the campus community. You will provide counseling, design wellness initiatives, and collaborate with Deans and the Office of Student Success to foster a supportive learning environment.

The role involves developing prevention programs, consulting with leaders, and guiding workplace civility and stress management while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED).
• One (1) year of experience providing prevention, education, and treatment to college students.
• Licensed or license-eligible within one (1) year as a mental health provider in Tennessee (COPY OF LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED).

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one counseling sessions to medical students, residents, and fellows to address mental health concerns, stress management, and personal challenges.
• Develops and implements a comprehensive wellness strategy aligned with the institution's mission and goals.
• Contributes to campuswide mental health support and intervention through CARE Team involvement.
• Oversees the development and execution of wellness programs, workshops, and training offerings.
• Ensures compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations related to wellness programs.
