Job summary

JGMS, Inc. in West Mifflin, PA seeks a Specialized Engineer (Welding) to lead advanced repair technology programs. You will collaborate with engineers to research, test, and evaluate welding and related processes across metal and non-metal systems.

The role requires planning, laboratory operations, and project management, with travel to vendors and shipyards. A DOE L Security Clearance is required, and a strong background in welding engineering and analysis is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Welding Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5+ years experience, or a Master’s with 3+ years.
• Assist planning and execution of work, produce technical instructions and procedures, track procurement/budget, write submittals.
• Experience making technical presentations and leading laboratory operations in a productive, timely, compliant manner.
• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings and engineering standards.
• Plan and execute work programs, design experiments, analyze results, and prepare technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to research, test, and evaluate metallic and non-metallic repair technologies.
• Travel to vendors and shipyards to support project planning, equipment testing, and repair deployment.
• Project management focus: planning, assignment of work, coordination of resources, and reporting performance.
