Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field with minimum 5 years relevant experience, or Master’s degree with minimum 3 years relevant experience.
• Assist planning, follow and execute work efforts; produce technical instructions and procedures; track procurement actions/budget performance; write technical submittals and recommendations.
• Experience making technical presentations and leading/executing laboratory operations in a productive, timely, and compliant manner.
• Ability to learn to develop and interpret specifications, drawings, and engineering standards.
• Plan and execute work programs, design experiments, analyze results, and prepare technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Team with other engineers to identify, research, test, and evaluate repair technologies using welding, machining, and other processes.
• Travel to vendors and shipyards to support project planning, equipment testing, and repair deployment.
• Manage project planning, assign work, coordinate resources, and report project performance within the repair technology development community.
