Job summary

CopperPoint Insurance Companies is seeking aSenior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster, Indemnity for a remote role. The candidate should have Colorado jurisdiction experience and preferred exposure to AZ, MO, UT, KS, NM, NV, OK, and TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience handling/adjusting workers’ compensation claims.
• Colorado workers’ compensation claims management experience is required.
• Experience/licensure in AZ, MO, UT, KS, NM, NV, OK and/or TX preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Strong technical workers’ compensation knowledge with prior claims management experience.
• Knowledge of DOI, NCCI, CDLE rules and regulations.
• Ability to analyze and apply laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to workers’ compensation.
• Ability to stay current with statutory and company policy changes.
• Ability to set priorities, manage time, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and investigate indemnity claims to determine compensability.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with injured workers, policyholders, brokers, and agents.
• Document communications and claim management activities.
• Develop and maintain action plans and reserves for indemnity claims.
• Establish cost drivers and data elements for NCCI/Medicare reporting.
• Ensure timely payment of indemnity and medical benefits.
• Identify and negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys.
• Conduct dispute resolution and testify at hearings when necessary.
