Job summary

CopperPoint Insurance Companies is seeking a Senior, Indemnity, Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster for a fully remote position. The ideal candidate will have Arizona claims experience and will handle indemnity claims while ensuring timely payments and compliance, with preference for additional state experience.

The role requires at least 3 years of workers’ compensation experience, bilingual Spanish preferred, and strong knowledge of NCCI and regulatory rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, administration, communications, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience handling/adjusting workers’ compensation claims.
• Arizona workers’ compensation claims management experience is required.
• Experience/licensure in MO, CO, UT, KS, NM, NV, OK and/or TX is highly preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills, initiative, judgment and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and investigate indemnity claims to determine compensability by applying laws and regulations.
• Utilize all available resources for claim resolution.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with injured workers, policyholders, brokers and agents through proactive management and timely communication.
• Document communications and claim management activities.
• Develop and maintain action plans and reserves, proactively managing claims to resolution.
• Establish cost drivers and data elements for accurate reporting (NCCI/Medicare).
• Proactively manage claims in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure timely payment of indemnity and medical benefits.
• Utilize cost containment measures and programs where appropriate.
• Identify settlement opportunities and negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys.
• Testify at hearings when necessary.
