Job summary

Confident Search Consultants is sourcing a Water Resources Design Engineer for our northern New Jersey client. The role anchors the technical bench in water and wastewater design, reporting to PMs and guiding junior staff.

Location options include Parsippany or Sparta, with a hybrid schedule and flexibility. The ideal candidate will have a PE or be near it, 5–10 years of relevant design experience, and strong NJDEP/EPA regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 5–10 years of hands on water and wastewater design experience.
• PE license or progress toward within 6–12 months.
• Strong working knowledge of NJDEP regulations and permitting; EPA, CWA, SDWA.
• AutoCAD, and the ability to produce reports and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer water and wastewater facilities, pumping stations, storage and distribution systems.
• Conduct feasibility and planning studies under EPA/NJDEP guidelines.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, cost estimates and contract documents.
• Coordinate regulatory permits and approvals (NJPDES, TWA, etc.).
• Perform site investigations and support design/construction phases.
• Collaborate with structural, civil, MEP, vendors and subcontractors.
• Mentor junior engineering staff on technical work and design procedures.
