GEI Consultants in Akron, Ohio is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to contribute to water resources planning and implementation across diverse settings. You will join a connected team of GEI H&H professionals, execute diverse projects, and prepare technical documents for design and construction.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of civil engineering experience, PE licensure or progress toward it, and strong communication and travel capabilities.
Qualifications
- 5 years of professional experience in civil engineering projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; MS is a plus.
- Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain in three years.
- Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to travel for assignments.
Responsibilities
- Execute technical projects with PMs and staff on water resources tasks.
- Prepare memoranda and reports and present technical information to peers/clients.
- Create design documents, specs, BOMs and project schedules.
- Travel to project sites and other offices as needed.
- Independently research and resolve technical/work issues.
- Support dam removal, river restoration, flood control and stormwater planning.
- Utilize software like SWMM, HEC-RAS and GIS in design and analysis.
