Job summary

Management Performance Associates in Parsippany/Sparta, NJ is seeking a Water Resources Design Engineer (Water or Wastewater) to anchor the technical design efforts. This senior role emphasizes hands-on design, regulatory coordination, and mentoring junior staff within a hybrid work setup.

The candidate should have 5–10 years of water/wastewater design experience, a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, and a PE license or near-term path to licensure, with strong NJDEP knowledge and AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
• 5-10 years of hands-on water and wastewater design experience.
• PE license, or on track to obtain within roughly six to twelve months.
• Strong working knowledge of NJDEP regulations and federal standards: EPA, CWA, SDWA.
• AutoCAD proficiency and ability to produce reports and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, storage facilities, and distribution/collection systems per standards.
• Perform feasibility and planning studies including hydraulic, process, and environmental evaluations.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents.
• Coordinate regulatory/permitting activities (NJPDES, TWAs).
• Conduct site investigations and support design/construction phase work.
• Collaborate with internal teams (structural, civil, MEP) and with vendors/subcontractors.
• Mentor junior staff on technical work, regulatory knowledge, and design procedures.
