Job summary

GHD is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead water infrastructure initiatives in the DC Metro Area. Based in Chantilly, VA or Bowie, MD, you will guide multi-discipline teams through planning, design, permitting, and construction to deliver safe, reliable infrastructure for communities.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of municipal water/wastewater experience with Virginia/Maryland exposure, PE licensure, and strong client strategy, mentoring, and communication skills to develop business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• PE license in Virginia and/or Maryland (Washington DC is a plus).
• 8+ years of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure experience including VA/MD.
• Water/wastewater planning, design, permitting, and construction experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop and lead staff.
• Stormwater design and permitting a plus.
• Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills.

Responsibilities

• Client & Customer Management: manage relationships with small clients and assist senior colleagues with larger clients.
• Engineering Solutions Design: design engineering solutions and validation process for functional and cost requirements.
• Engineering Standards Specification: contribute to analysis, drafting standards, and evaluating effectiveness.
• Health, Safety, and Environment: follow HSE policies and mitigate environmental risks.
• Personal Capability Building: develop capabilities through training and external accreditation.
• Project and Solution Development: define and deliver services meeting customer needs.
• Project Management: deliver projects within established program management plans.
• Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response: gather info, draft proposals, and fulfill bid requirements.
