Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, a dynamic, employee‑owned firm, seeks a senior civil engineer to lead water and wastewater projects in the Washington DC metro area. You will collaborate with clients across DC, Maryland, and Virginia to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions.

The role requires 15+ years in civil engineering and a PE license in DC/MD/VA, plus business development capabilities. This position offers growth within a collaborative, long‑term relationships oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years of experience in civil engineering projects.
• Professional Engineer license in DC, MD, or VA.

Responsibilities

• Lead water and wastewater projects across the Washington DC metropolitan area.
• Manage projects within scope, schedule, and budget, collaborating with subconsultants.
• Develop project management and quality plans; guide technical resources.
• Monitor progress, mitigate risks, and propose extra work orders.
• Prepare status presentations and client communications.
• Support business development and client relationship building.
