Job summary

GEODIS in Virginia is seeking a seasoned Warehouse Operations Manager to establish procedures for shipments and inventory control, while ensuring safe, efficient distribution center operations. You will drive KPI achievement, manage budgets, and align activities with customer service and sales teams.

The role demands 6+ years of related experience, proficiency with WMS/LMS systems, and strong communication and leadership skills to supervise staff, execute process improvements, and uphold

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years related experience and/or training.
• Experience with warehouse management systems.
• Experience with labor management systems and productivity initiatives preferred.
• Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Establishes operational procedures for shipments and inventory control.
• Maintains warehouse condition and equipment.
• Coordinates with customer service and sales for alignment of activities.
• Partners with customers to maintain high satisfaction and follow up on concerns.
• Ensures safe operation and regulatory compliance within the warehouse.
• Manages budget and P&L for the operation.
• Oversees KPI targets to ensure profitability and productivity.
• Collaborates with engineering to optimize layout and product placement.
• Leads hiring, training, and supervision of supervisory and hourly staff.
