Job summary

Clayco seeks a seasoned VDC Manager to drive BIM/VDC activities across design-build projects in Chicago and nationwide. You will lead digital workflows, standardize visualization, and support coordination from pre-construction through handover.

Strong BIM software proficiency is essential, with travel to job sites as needed. The role emphasizes advancing Clayco’s digital practice, coaching project teams, and delivering model-based solutions that bridge design and construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 5-10 years in AEC, especially MEP coordination.
• Minimum 5 years with VDC/BIM processes.
• Solid knowledge of construction principles.
• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Building Design Suite and related tools.
• Willing to travel and relocate to a job site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple projects executing BIM/VDC tasks.
• Develop visualization standards and capabilities.
• Collaborate with teams to solve problems using digital tools.
• Champion integrated technology approaches.
• Coordinate design and construction through models to docs.
• Provide technical support for in-house applications (Revit, Assemble, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.).
• Support pre-construction estimating and scheduling workflows.
• Coach teams in VDC best practices.
• Manage federated models and 4D building analysis with schedulers.
