Job summary

Clayco is seeking a VDC Engineer to support the design-build cycle through BIM coordination and 3D/4D/5D analyses. You will work with the design-build team and subcontractors, applying Clayco's Digital Practice Technology to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The role requires 2+ years in AEC, strong BIM tool proficiency, and willingness to travel to job sites nationwide. A construction management mindset and collaborative approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in AEC-related field.
• 2+ years of experience in the AEC industry with emphasis on MEP coordination.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with VDC/BIM processes.
• Solid knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• 3+ years of experience with Autodesk BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Assemble).
• 3+ years using Structionsite, DroneDeploy, and BIM 360/ACC cloud tech.
• Willing to travel and relocate to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Support design-build team to facilitate 3D and 2D coordination.
• Coordinate with design team and subcontractors on BIM activities.
• Provide technical support for in-house BIM applications.
• Assist Pre-Con with quantities extraction and scheduling.
• Coach project teams in BIM best practices.
• Coordinate 3D content modeled by others and model missing content.
• Perform 4D and 5D analyses with scheduling and estimating teams.
• Document clash detection and assist in resolution.
• Take-off material quantities for conceptual estimating using BIM tech.
• Manage model changes through design updates and as-built conditions.
• Serve as information manager and content gatekeeper for the project.
