Job summary

Merck in the USA is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Vaccine Account Representative (VAR) to engage with pharmacies, medical groups and physician offices across a large territory. This hybrid, remote-enabled role focuses on population health and sales growth through clinical information, programs and resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, or a high school diploma with at least 6 years in related fields.
• Valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated aptitude to excel in current or previous educational or professional roles.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Vaccines experience is preferred.
• Retail Pharmacy sales experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Account Management & Contracting: build long-term relationships through collaborative business planning, conduct customer business reviews, and discuss financial impact of contracts and vaccine programs.
• Maintain knowledge of contract terms and apply them to optimize vaccine purchases and inventory in line with office protocols and seasonality.
• Establish and track account performance metrics to evaluate progress and adjust plans.
• Apply knowledge of vaccines, immunization recommendations and protocols to support standards of care and vaccination protocols.
• Manage customer supply, product transitions, and back-order communications.
• Sales Acumen: build trust with customers and demonstrate value in engagements to improve health outcomes across populations.
• Customer Segmentation & Targeting: divide customers into groups to focus resources and drive execution of plans.
• Communicate vaccine information and offers in a meaningful way and tailor discussions to customer needs.
• Position qualifications: extensive experience in selling pharma products and understanding healthcare markets.
