Job summary

The City of Pasadena, Texas is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to perform and lead tasks for sewer, water, storm drainage, and street projects on site.Responsibilities include supervising crews, assisting in pipe installations, ensuring safety and traffic control, and using maps/drawings for daily repairs.

Must hold a Texas CDL Class B with a clean driving record, pass flagging requirements, and comply with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Texas CDL Class B with good driving record.
• Traffic Control I (Flagging).
• Utility Safety and Trenching and Shoring Safety Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leads and performs manual tasks at a highly skilled level for maintenance and construction of sanitary sewer lines and water and storm drainage, as well as streets and sidewalks.
• Provides leadership and assistance to subordinates in overseeing excavation of repair projects and maintenance work.
• Assists in pipe installations and adjustments to insure proper grade.
• Ensures proper traffic control and safety requirements are followed.
• Uses utility maps and drawings in daily repairs and maintenance.
• May be subject to call out service after hours.
• Maintains required licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements.
