Job summary

The City of Pasadena is hiring for a sewer maintenance position responsible for high-level manual tasks in the construction and upkeep of sanitary sewer lines and treatment facilities. You will excavate, repair, and connect lines using hand tools, and work with a crew to meet schedule commitments.

The role requires a valid Texas driver's license, the ability to lift, work outdoors in all weather, and willingness to work shifts or be called out after hours.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.
• Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; kneeling, crouching and bending; pushing, pulling and reaching; standing for prolonged periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs high level of manual tasks involved in the maintenance and construction of sanitary sewer lines and sewage plants.
• Excavates soil and makes sanitary sewer repairs and connections with various hand tools.
• Repairs, cleans, and maintains sanitary sewer lines; assembles and disassembles barricades and shoring equipment.
• May be subject to call out service after hours; shift work may be required.
