Job summary

The City of Pasadena is recruiting a Utility Worker III to lead a crew in digging up and replacing drainage lines and contributing to the upkeep of streets, sidewalks, ditches, and storm sewers. The role requires the ability to work independently, assess situations, and follow safety procedures at all times.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 months of related experience, and a valid Texas Class B CDL with a good driving record; Class A CDL is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead crew to dig up and replace drainage lines and maintain streets, sidewalks, ditches, and storm sewers
• Perform heavy manual labor including digging, shoring, and back-filling
• Place pipe in trenches dug by backhoe or trencher and ensure proper grade
• Assemble and disassemble barricades and use proper safety equipment
• Operate tools such as gas saws, air hammers, sledge hammers and loaders
• Use city radio for communications and comply with attendance policy
