Job summary

The City of Pasadena seeks a full‑time Utility Maintenance Technician III to support water utility operations. You will assist maintenance crews, lead material coordination for projects, monitor water meters, and ensure compliance with water quality requirements.

The role requires a related degree or experience, valid Texas driver license, and certifications such as Ground Water License, Traffic Control and safety trainings. The position offers comprehensive city benefits and a stable schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• Experience in concrete work, pipe work, electrical and general labor.
• Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.
• Licenses and certifications: Ground Water, Traffic Control, Utility Safety, Trenching & Shoring, Confined Space Entry.
• Preferred CDL Class B driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance and utility crews in manual tasks and general upkeep of water lines, meters and plants.
• Lead and coordinate materials for projects and daily maintenance work.
• Communicate with all levels in the division and document messages and orders.
• Read and record water meters at well sites and adjust chlorine for disinfection to maintain residuals.
• Operate fire hydrants to flush mains and ensure compliance with water quality issues.
• Adhere to schedule, timekeeping, and attendance policies; perform other duties as assigned.
