Job summary

Pearce in Garden City, NY is seeking an Experienced Critical Power Field Technician to service UPS systems, battery plants, DC power equipment, and related infrastructure in data centers and commercial facilities.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, respond to emergencies, document findings, and maintain safety standards while traveling within the service territory. A valid driver's license and overnight travel may be required. Pearce offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on UPS, battery, DC power equipment experience.
• Experience with manufacturers such as Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use test equipment.
• Strong safety focus and customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems and related equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics and documentation.
• Install, commission, and replace UPS systems and battery strings.
• Respond to emergency service calls and restore systems to operation safely.
• Perform battery testing, capacity testing, and lifecycle replacements.
• Complete service reports and customer communications accurately.
