Job summary

Zurich E&S in multiple locations seeks an experienced UA Manager to lead the Casualty Wholesale team. The role is based in one of several offices with a hybrid schedule; three days in the office and occasional travel to other offices will be required.

You will supervise 7-10 associates, drive underwriting standards, mentor staff, and partner with producers. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4+ years in underwriting or insurance is required, plus leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years in Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 4+ years in related area
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6+ years in Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment

Responsibilities

• Ensure teams meet key operational performance goals.
• Assess underwriting processes to implement technical standards and controls.
• Discuss status of new business, renewals, and renewals in process with producers.
• Provide customer service and account management including billing changes and coverage questions.
• Engage in key account relationships with Underwriters.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and development plans for staff.
• Make staffing decisions and mentor staff for client service.
• Cross-train to support multiple workflows and improve operations.
• Lead team huddles and meetings; build cross-functional relationships.
• Onboard and train Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters.
• Act as SME for continuous improvement initiatives.
