Job summary

Zurich E&S is seeking an experienced UA Manager to join the Casualty Wholesale team. The role is based in one of several offices (Atlanta, Scottsdale, Rocky Hill or NYC) with a hybrid schedule, requiring three in-office days per week.

You will lead 7–10 UA Associates, drive underwriting standards, and collaborate with producers to manage new business and renewals. Travel to offices will be required as needed to support team performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years in Insurance, Underwriting, or Market Facing.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 4+ years in related area.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6+ years in Insurance, Underwriting, or Market Facing.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.
• Assess underwriting processes to implement standards, controls, and procedures.
• Follow up with producers about new business, renewals, and renewals in process; take appropriate actions.
• Perform customer service and account management tasks, including billing and policy changes.
• Participate in key account relationships in person or via teleconference with Underwriters.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and career development conversations; create development plans.
• Make staffing decisions and guide staff development; delegate tasks and motivate teams.
• Build underwriting skills and knowledge through cross-training and learning multiple workflows.
• Lead underwriting team huddles and meetings; build strong cross-business relationships.
• Onboard and train new Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters.
• Act as SME for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and operational performance.

Education

Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in Insurance/Underwriting/Market Facing

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, incl. Associate Degree and 4+ years in Insurance/Underwriting/Market Facing

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of experience in Insurance/Underwriting/Market Facing
