Argo Group is seeking a production underwriter in New York City for a 100% in-office role. You will underwrite new and renewal submissions, market products to brokers, and develop broker relationships across targeted territories.

Travel about 20% is required and a base salary range plus annual bonus is offered. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, five years underwriting experience, and strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• A relentless desire to continually update your skill level through continuing education and self-development.
• Previous insurance educational work, IIA and CPCU designations are strongly preferred.
• A minimum of five years underwriting experience with authority.
• Demonstrated robust relationships with professional liability specialist brokers in the Central U.S.
• Strong negotiation skills leading to favorable outcomes.
• Flexibility and ability to thrive in change.
• Strong focus on execution and delivering results.
• Proven ability to analyze information to underwrite profitably.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite and analyze new business and renewal submissions for the assigned area.
• Communicate our products and services to retail and wholesale brokers.
• Develop broker relationships and establish new ones in targeted territories.
• Participate in client and broker meetings.
• Maintain a submission pipeline to meet production and business mix objectives.
• Use market contacts to source business and share market intelligence.
