Job summary

Argo Group in New York is seeking a production underwriting professional to market, underwrite and process assigned lines of business. This is a 100% in-office role requiring on-site work during standard business hours.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of underwriting experience, and proven ability to drive profitable growth. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years related insurance experience.
• Underwriting experience with authority, preferably in FI lines.
• Proven track record of driving profitable growth.
• Strong analytical and written/oral communication skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Review and price policies to verify acceptability based on underwriting guidelines and authority.
• Utilize underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
• Interact in person, via email, and by phone with brokers to obtain risk details, negotiate terms and pricing.
• Manage assigned portfolio in underwriting territory, including broker performance (GWP, loss ratio).
• Create, analyze, and interpret data from reports/dashboards.
• Complete underwriting analysis and maintain underwriting files.
• Review state laws to properly transact business within the state.
• Participate in educational sessions within the department.
