Job summary

The Mutual Group in Denver seeks a Commercial Lines Insurance Nonprofit Human Services Underwriting Specialist to grow and manage a niche nonprofit portfolio. You will advise other underwriters, analyze exposures, and establish coverages and premiums that are competitive while maintaining profitability.

You will build strong relationships with agents to drive higher-quality business and exercise independent judgment on complex cases, including accounts up to $1,000,000 written premium.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years underwriting all commercial lines.
• Prefer nonprofit human services and education underwriting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and make timely decisions; CPCU or industry-equivalent is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage a portfolio of nonprofit niche business with profitable outcomes.
• Advise other underwriters and staff on processes and procedures; drive risk selection.
• Build relationships with agents to increase quality, steady business flow.
