Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Underwriting Specialist focused on nonprofit human services and education. You will grow and manage a book of business, advise peers on underwriting procedures, and analyze risks to determine adequate coverages and premiums.

You will build strong agent relationships to drive growth while working under limited supervision with significant independent judgment. Hybrid work with some travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years underwriting all commercial lines including Property, GL, Professional Liability, WC, Crime, Auto, Umbrella, etc.
• Prefer nonprofit human services and education underwriting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• CPCU or industry equivalent in progress or obtained.

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage a book of commercial lines business.
• Advise other underwriters and staff on processes and procedures.
• Analyze exposures and assign appropriate coverages and premiums.
• Build and maintain relationships with agents to drive business flow.
• Meet performance indicators and collaborate with distribution partners.
