Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriting Specialist focused on Nonprofit Human Services and Education. You will analyze exposures, set coverages and premiums, and advise other underwriters to ensure profitable, competitive results.

You will build strong agent relationships, manage renewals up to large totals, and contribute to a high-performing team within Field Underwriting. Hybrid work is available for local candidates; CPCU or equivalent pursued is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years underwriting all commercial lines (Commercial Property, General Liability, Professional Liability, Worker's Compensation, Crime, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, etc).
• Prefer Nonprofit Human Services and Education underwriting experience.
• Excellent communication skills both in writing and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite renewals and new business with a focus on profitability and risk selection.
• Advise other underwriters and staff on processes and procedures.
• Build relationships with agents to drive business flow and retainment.
• Ensure timely renewals and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with distribution team to grow agency relationships and opportunities.
