Job summary

Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY) seeks a Senior Underwriter for Management and Professional Lines to underwrite, market, and grow a profitable book. The role emphasizes deep technical underwriting, broker partnerships, and cross-functional collaboration across PHLY’s specialty lines.

The ideal candidate will bring advanced underwriting expertise, strong agency relationships, and the ability to mentor junior underwriters while delivering pricing, terms, and endorsements for complex risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related industry or underwriting experience.
• Proven experience managing agency relationships and a profitable book of business.
• Professional designations such as RPLU, CPCU, ARM, or AU are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and market assigned products across Directors & Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Crime, Cyber, and other Management Liability lines.
• Analyze financial statements and risk characteristics to determine pricing and risk acceptability.
• Prepare submissions and negotiate terms with producers and accounts within authority limits.
• Mentor and train less experienced underwriters, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
• Develop territory marketing strategies and strengthen agency partner relationships.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, risk management, marketing, operations, and product management to deliver excellent service.
