Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 6–8 years of underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• Deep knowledge of commercial lines products and the local market.
• Strong critical thinking skills to assess risk and drive profitability.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite complex accounts and negotiate terms to maximize profitability.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners and external agents.
• Travel to meet agents and brokers to market Travelers' products.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and develop sales plans with MD.
• Support training and mentoring of less experienced Account Executives.
