Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Account Executive Officer (AEO) for Commercial Accounts to partner with agents and brokers to provide property, general liability, commercial auto, and workers’ compensation coverage for new and renewal business based on customer needs.

You will be decisive, detail-oriented and able to build relationships internally and externally to drive profitability and growth in a challenging market. Travel to meet with agents and brokers is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CPCU designation preferred.
• 6–8 years of underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lines products and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster relationships with external partners by meeting with agents and brokers to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts within risk appetite; travel required.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans with MD to craft region/group sales plans.
• Possibly mentor less experienced Account Executives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
