Anduril Industries seeks a Mission Software Engineer for Undersea Reconnaissance & Strike in Washington, DC. You will dive into field anomalies, reproduce them against the live data pipeline, and ship fixes into the real codebase for autonomous underwater vehicles.

You will work with Rust, C++, Python, or Go, write tests, and verify changes in hardware-in-the-loop before deployment. Travel 25%+ as needed.

Qualifications

• Real experience debugging code under time pressure with incomplete information.
• Comfort with at least two of Rust, modern C++, Python, Go to read and fix bugs.
• Systems-debugging instincts using logs and metrics to reconstruct events.
• Exposure to observability tooling and Linux/system fluency.
• Willingness to travel 25%+ of the time and to work near hardware.

Responsabilités

• Take field-reported anomalies and determine the actual subsystem responsible.
• Reproduce issues using recorded data, visualize results, and avoid guesswork.
• Use existing metrics/logs to reconstruct system state at failure.
• Verify fixes in hardware-in-the-loop before deploy.
• Write fixes in the subsystem language with tests and CI integration.
• Document root cause and fix for long-term reliability and triage.
