Zusammenfassung

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to design underground transmission lines up to 500kV, lead a small project team, and coordinate with vendors and clients. The role supports hybrid work with three days in the office and two remote days, and offers a generous relocation package depending on location.

Bilingual in Spanish and English is required with ABET-accredited BS degree and extensive experience in design, cost estimation, and standards compliance.

Qualifikationen

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling.
• Proficiency with cable tensioning calculations and/or software.
• Experience with XLPE cable design.
• Experience in cost estimate development and schedule creation.
• Knowledge of design techniques and standards (NESC, EPRI Green Book, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318).
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, and write).

Aufgaben

• Design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV.
• Cost analyses, development of design criteria, siting and routing challenges, and placement of manholes for underground transmission lines.
• Physical design including duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, cable pulling calculations, and drawing packages.
• Cable selection studies, bonding schemes, ampacity calculations.
• Riser structure configuration and structural loading.
• Develop specifications for installation and procurement of underground transmission line materials and components.
• Work with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
• Direct a small project team of engineers, designers and drafters.
