Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Underground Engineer for the Leeville operation. The role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating detailed engineering work within a major mining project, with responsibilities spanning from surveys to CAPEX/OPEX planning.

The successful candidate will bring 3+ years in mine design and scheduling, strong ventilation experience, and excellent technical communication skills to drive efficiency and cross-functional collaboration across the site.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering and 5+ years in Underground Mine Planning is required.
• Ventilation experience is required.
• Minimum 3 years of mine design and scheduling is required.
• Technical communication and presentation skills are required.
• Expert knowledge in engineering and design is required.
• Mining or heavy mineral industry experience is required.
• Project management skills are preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Deswik, and VentSim is preferred.
• Strong communication and team fostering skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work for a major project or a segment of a moderate project.
• Plan and conduct surveys, tests, or investigations and prepare recommendations, summaries, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Tackle complex engineering problems with originality and judgment.
• Develop long-range mine plans including CAPEX and OPEX estimates.
• Prepare Reserve and Resource estimates for the site.
• Create metrics to measure operational efficiency and growth.
• Foster trust and collaboration with other departments at the operation.
• Manage workload allocation and output from the site engineering and survey team.
