Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in underground mine planning with ventilation experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office, Deswik, and VentSim.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering and 5 years of Underground Mine Planning (required).
• Ventilation experience (required).
• Minimum 3 years of mine design and scheduling (required).
• Technical communication and presentation skills (required).
• Expert knowledge in engineering and design (required).
• Mining or heavy mineral industry experience (required).
• Project management skills (preferred).
• MS Office, Deswik software suite and VentSim proficiency (preferred).
• Strong communication and team fostering skills (required).

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
• Plan and conduct surveys, tests, or investigations, interpret results, and prepare recommendations, summaries, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Perform work involving conventional engineering with complex features and coordination requirements.
• Develop and evaluate plans and criteria; devise new approaches to problems.
• Create long range mine plans including CAPEX and OPEX estimates.
• Prepare Reserve and Resource estimates for the site.
• Create metrics to determine operational efficiencies and growth prospects.
• Foster a constructive environment with other departments at the operation.
• Manage workload allocation and deliverables from the site engineering and survey team.
