Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is hiring an experienced Technician in Salt Lake City, UT. You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs across a diverse fleet, helping customers keep vehicles on the road.

The role emphasizes leadership, independent work, and training opportunities. You’ll operate in a safety‑minded shop with access to Penske’s technology and tools to diagnose and fix issues.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications (preferred).
• Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools).
• Valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred.
• The ability to solve problems and provide excellent customer service.
• Willing to travel as necessary within the district; able to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Must comply with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Performing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision.
• Repairing and troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) including replacements.
• Keeping work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Working on additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
