Job summary

Penske Mobile Technician II in Salt Lake City, UT, will diagnose and repair major components, perform PM services, and support road testing with minimal supervision. The role requires CDL with air brake certification, DOT compliance, and the ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing engines, transmissions, electrical and HVAC systems, brakes, steering, and equipment components. Strong tool proficiency and safety adherence are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
• Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of shop tools required.
• Current CDL license with air brake certification required.
• DOT medical card and/or ability to obtain DOT medical card prior to commencing work.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Repair and diagnose engines, powertrain including differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTOs and wheel ends.
• Diagnose electrical systems including starters, alternators and ECM/ECU sensors.
• Perform preventive maintenance and road tests to ensure proper operation.
• Identify parts required for repair and manage inventory.
• Maintain on-site safety, cleanliness, and compliance with Penske policies.
• Serve as primary customer contact for day-to-day needs and coordinate with sales/ops.
