Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Salt Lake City seeks a Mobile Technician II to diagnose and repair major components with minimal supervision.

The role includes preventive maintenance, road testing, and parts management to ensure equipment safety and reliability. The technician will work with engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical and HVAC systems, and will document work and communicate with the Asset Supervisor.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• CDL with air brake certification required; willing to obtain CDL if needed.
• Must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in home state.

Responsibilities

• Repair and diagnosis of engines, powertrain, brakes and electrical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance services and road tests.
• Order and manage parts inventory and warranty determinations.
• Maintain safety, environmental compliance and work area appearance.
• Serve as primary customer contact and coordinate with management.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Vocational/Technical or certification preferred

DOT medical card

CDL (with air brake certification)

Willingness to travel

Basic map reading

Data entry into maintenance systems

Ability to operate 26,000 lb vehicle
