Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to support our Gulf Region in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The role requires 5+ years in traffic or roadway design and an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.

You will manage client projects, lead design efforts, and coordinate with regulators and subconsultants while guiding junior staff and ensuring quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering experience with progressive growth.
• Alabama Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads/InRoads/ArcGIS/Synchro/VISSIM/SIDRA/HCS.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and plan review for Volkert clients in Alabama.
• Organize activities, schedules, and reports for transportation projects.
• Lead or assist in developing project designs and guide designers.
• Provide technical design and guidance on roadway design and traffic studies.
• Prepare engineering studies, documents, and reports.
• Manage project budgets to meet financial metrics.
• Interact with clients and regulators and attend project meetings.
• Market to new and existing clients and participate in business development.
• Develop junior staff and adhere to quality assurance standards.
