Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to help plan, design, and deliver transportation projects nationwide. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and project managers on Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3, and other delivery methods, using ORD for roadway design and contributing to reports and models.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in transportation design, a VA PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months, and strong coordination with dispersed teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in transportation infrastructure design.
• Active PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficient in OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
• Excellent organizational and collaborative skills.
• Familiarity with DOT standards across multiple states is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technical design on transportation projects (highways, interchanges, tollways, transit corridors).
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices to craft cost-effective design solutions.
• Act as technical liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Develop and review plans, specs, and cost estimates using ORD.
• Participate in proposals, design-build pursuits, and presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support career development.
