Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects across the firm. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers and project managers on exciting projects, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3, and other delivery methods, preparing roadway designs with ORD.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 8+ years of transportation experience, a VA PE or ability to obtain within 6 months, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) required.
• 8+ years of experience in transportation infrastructure design.
• VA Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for roadway design and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support technical design on a wide range of transportation projects (highways, interchanges, tollways).
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices to develop innovative design solutions.
• Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Develop and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design reports using ORD.
• Participate in proposal development, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support career development within the project team.
