BKF Engineers seeks a Senior Project Engineer with civil transportation design expertise to join our San Jose team. This hybrid/remote option supports collaboration with our California offices and client teams on publicly funded roadway and multimodal projects. CA-licensed P.E.

with 5+ years of experience and leadership capabilities are required. You’ll mentor junior staff, coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, and guide projects from planning through construction support, ensuring quality

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in transportation infrastructure design and project delivery.
• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification required; PE licensure.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and project management tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery of transportation projects including roadways and corridors.
• Organize project workflows and delegate tasks to junior staff.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with sub-consultants.
• Attend project meetings and track action items.
