Job summary

BKF Engineers seeks a Senior Project Engineer in San Jose to lead civil transportation design efforts. Hybrid or remote work from Redwood City or Pleasanton may be available for the right candidate. A California licensed P.E. with 5+ years of experience is preferred.

You will oversee design delivery, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams on publicly funded roadway and multimodal corridor projects, from planning through construction support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in transportation infrastructure design.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification required; PE licensure preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and PM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery of transportation projects.
• Organise project workflows and delegate tasks to juniors.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental docs.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate sub-consultants.
