BKF Engineers is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in San Jose to lead transportation design and manage delivery across roadway projects. The role emphasizes mentoring junior staff, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring quality deliverables.

Occasional travel to BKF offices and client sites is expected. The ideal candidate holds a California PE license or is on track for licensure, with 5+ years of experience and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in transportation infrastructure design and project delivery.
• EIT certification required; PE licensure preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D; strong coordination with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery of transportation projects including roadways and corridors.
• Organize workflows, set design criteria, and delegate tasks to junior staff.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental documentation.
• Support QA/QC and identify out-of-scope services.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with sub-consultants and clients.
• Attend meetings and track action items; assist in scheduling, permitting, and construction.
